Macquarie University is a public research university located in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The university was founded in 1964 by the New South Wales Government and was the third university to be established in the metropolitan area of Sydney. Macquarie University has an acceptance rate of about 54% for international students which makes it both easy for prepared students and difficult for unprepared students.

Vice-Chancellor Scholarships

The Macquarie Vice-Chancellor Scholarship is awarded to recognize academic excellence for international students. This scholarship provides up to AUD 10,000 applied towards tuition fees. This is a limited scholarship, so we encourage you to accept the offer and scholarship early to avoid disappointment.

African Women in STEM Scholarship

The Macquarie African Women in STEM scholarship is a scholarship that encourages women from African regions to explore their full potential and supports them in pursuing their quest for knowledge. This scholarship covers 50% of the tuition fee of any woman interested in studying Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

Nigeria Regional Scholarship

This AUD 5,000(per year) early acceptance scholarship is awarded to talented international students from Nigeria pursuing a coursework degree at Macquarie University. The scholarship offers AUD 5,000 which will be credited in the second session of the first year of enrolment, and AUD$2,500 will be credited in each subsequent session for the duration of the course.

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must have successfully submitted an application for the undergraduate or postgraduate degree you plan to study and meet all the requirements necessary for admission.

Medibank Undergraduate Coursework Scholarship

This is a one-off scholarship offered to high-performing international students at Macquarie University. The Scholarship is valued at $2,500 and beneficiaries of this scholarship are also granted membership to the Medibank Scholars Network giving access to special events as well as mentoring or training opportunities provided by Medibank.

Eligibility Criteria for the Scholarship Details

To be considered for this scholarship applicants are required to complete their admission form and hold a valid offer letter to study at Macquarie University. As part of the application form, you must:

  • Achieve a minimum WAM equivalent of 65 for Postgraduate applications; or a minimum ATAR equivalent of 85 for Undergraduate applications.
  • Commence study in the session and year indicated in your scholarship letter.
