NG-CARES Grant Application for Nigerians – The Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus Application Is Open for All Nigerians

As part of the Buhari Administration’s plan to take 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in ten years, the World Bank-supported COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus also known as NG-CARES will also leverage on existing job creation, wealth creation, and poverty reduction programmes at the community level.

These include programmes such as State Cash Transfer Units, Agriculture Development Agencies, Job Creation Unit/MSE Support Units supported by the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP) of the Administration.
The programme which is implemented through the World Bank’s $750 million loans is a multi-sectoral programme, which in addition to the ongoing implementation of the Economic Sustainability Plan (ESP), is a furtherance of the Federal Government’s response to the socio-economic fallouts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Aim of the NG CARES Grant
The aim of this programme is to support vulnerable and poor Nigerians, provide immediate emergency relief to smallholder farmers and SMEs that were adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Who Can Apply
All Nigerians who are affected by the impact of the covid-10 pandemic can apply for this grant through their state application portal. Since this programme runs on the Programme for Results(PforR) delivery system, all applicants will be paid by their state government who will in return get a refund from the Federal government at the end of the programme.
