About Sanlam SAICA Trainee Programme
The Sanlam CA Training Programme is guided by SAICA regulations, which require practical experience to obtain the prescribed technical and professional competence in the value-creation process. Sanlam SAICA is seeking Africa’s brightest minds to apply for this opportunity to embark on a journey of personal and professional growth, culminating in a CA(SA) qualification. As a SAICA Trainee Accountant, during the three-year Sanlam CA Training Programme, you will be placed on rotations within the Group Office and the various Sanlam Group clusters. This will ensure you obtain the relevant exposure to achieve the prescribed SAICA competencies. Through the different rotations, trainees will be given opportunities to be part of the Sanlam value-creation process and gain exposure to the following competencies:
- Ethics and citizenship
- Business acumen
- Decision-making acumen
- Relational acumen
- Digital acumen
- Business and finance strategy
- Internal audit
- Governance
- Risk management
- Reporting

Requirements for Sanlam SAICA Trainee Programme 2024
- B. Com (Honours) Accountancy or a post-graduate programme recognised by SAICA as a prerequisite for admission to the Initial Test of Competence (ITC)
- An academic performance record average of at least 60% (please upload your transcript in the additional documents section)
- Experience belonging to a university/community organisation i.e. non-profit, society, or club
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is advantageous

Job Outline
- Completing the formal educational programme, which includes practical experience and training (from Sanlam as a Training Office) as prescribed by the South African Institute of Chartered Accounts (SAICA), to qualify as a Chartered Accountant (CA)

- Demonstrating high levels of professionalism and attitude, along with technical ability
- Assisting with ad-hoc projects
