SARB Graduate Programme 2025 | Apply Now for South African Reserve Bank (SARB) Graduate Development Programme for South Africans

Interested and suitably qualified South Africans are hereby invited to submit their application for the 2025 SARB graduate program. The South African Reserve Bank is looking for productive and talented postgraduates to join her one-year graduate development program which will start in January 2025 through December 2025. About South African Reserve Bank (SARB)

The South African Reserve Bank serves the economic well-being of South Africans through maintaining price and financial stability. It is responsible for the regulation of the South African financial sector, design and distribution of banknotes and coins, management of interest rates, setting the cash reserve requirement for banks, and ensuring the stability of both the banking sector and the wider financial system.

Benefits of SARB Graduate Programme

Here are some of the benefits you will get from participating in the SARB graduate programme if successfully shortlisted;

  • You will gain exposure to the various departments in SARB
  • As a graduate, you will have a full year to work and learn at the SARB Head Office from January to December 2025. During this period, you will be assigned to a department and exposed to various tasks and projects.
  • During the Programme, you will attend various learning interventions at the SARB Academy. Interventions are mainly central banking specific and are aimed at producing well-rounded central bankers.
  • In addition, you will gain personal and professional skills such as assertive communication, public speaking and presentations, creating powerful PowerPoint presentations, impactful reporting, teamwork, and personal excellence and etiquette also form part of the holistic program.
  • You will also receive a competitive salary for the duration of the Programme.
  • After the program, graduates who performed well and have shown the ability to work independently and wish to continue their service at SARB will be retained

Requirements

Interested postgraduate students who wish to apply for the graduate programme with capability in at least one of the following areas are welcomed to apply:

  • Public finance
  • Accounting
  • Auditing
  • Statistics
  • Financial management
  • Information technology
  • Law
  • Portfolio or investment management
  • Mathematics
  • Quantitative analysis
  • Business analysis
  • Project management
  • Risk management (operational and financial risk)
  • Treasury
  • Economics and international relations

Other Requirements

  • You must have completed a postgraduate degree;
  • have attained an average of over 65% in your final year;
  • have a strong desire to work in financial services and/or policymaking;
  • have a proven track record of academic excellence;
  • have excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • You must be a South African citizen;
  • You must be a curious and keen learner.
