KYEOP Grants Orientation Update for Cycle 8D | KYEOP Orientation Schedule for Week 1

KYEOP Grants Orientation Update – The Kenya Youth Employment and Opportunities Project(KYEOP) grant SMS notification has been sent to suitably qualified and eligible persons to invite them for the cycle 8D orientation. In this post, you will find the venue for week one while we await the Venues for the other Counties which will be communicated in due course.

About KYEOP Grants

The Kenya Youth Employment and Opportunities Project(KYEOP) is an initiative of the Kenyan government in partnership with the world bank with the aim of addressing the issue of unemployment amongst Kenyan youths through skill training, internship, and business grant opportunities.

The Ksh.15 billion project which is targeted towards making sure 50,000 are empowered also aims at increasing employment and earning opportunities for young people between the age of 18-29 years irrespective of their education level. The project is expected to run for a period of 5 years in other to meet the said target.

KYEOP Grants Orientation Schedule for Cycle 8D

The KYEOP Grants orientation for cycle 8D is scheduled for 1st to 4th August 2023 in the following counties;

  • Nairobi- Embakasi central youth hall, located next to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital along Kangundo ( Kayole Junction)
  • Kilifi- Kilifi Primary School
  • Wajir- Wajir Polytechnic
  • Bungoma – Kibabii Diploma TTC
  • Nyandarua – Express Gardens Opposite Catholic Church or Behind Jamaa Supermarket.
  • Nakuru- Kenyatta University; Nakuru Campus
  • Kitui- Kitui Multi-purpose center.
  • Kakamega- Kakamega Multipurpose Hall

Components for KYEOP Grants

There are 4 components of the project that are being implemented by different Government Agencies and they are as follows;

  • Component 1: Improving youth employability, implemented by MIIYA and the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA)
  • Component 2: Support for job Creation, implemented by the Micro and Small Enterprises Authority (MSEA)
  • Component 3: Improving Labour Market Information, implemented by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection
  • Component 4: Strengthening Youth Policy Development and project management, implemented by the State Department for Youth, in the Ministry of ICT, Innovation and Youth Affairs (MIIYA).
