Unemployment is one of Nigeria’s most severe economic problems. As a result, people’s capacities and knowledge must be engaged to obtain economic expansion and social improvement. Regardless of the prevalence problem of unemployment, several bodies and associations have taken steps to encourage skills advancement and offer Nigerians opportunities to contribute to the betterment of the country.

Additionally, the lack of job opportunities in the country has caused a large increase in crime rates. Although unemployment is not a justification for crime, we can’t exclude the fact that it has caused many individuals to try illicit ways of earning a living.

However, to help curb the risk of unemployment, the government and some individuals have brought up various schemes, skill acquisition programs, and empowerment programs to help individuals to stand and cater for themselves.
