Sassa Payment Dates for April and How Much You Will Receive

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) social grant program has been around for a while now and some households, old people, and underprivileged people have benefited greatly from this grant and so most people are always waiting for the payment date for each month so for the month of April, Sassa Payment Dates have already been announced and we are here to share the date with you including the recent increase amounts so do well to read to the end if you wish to know how much you will receive from Sassa grant Payment in April.

Sassa Payment Dates for April 2023

The payment timetable for the month of April is as follows;

  • Older Person Grant – 3 April
  • Disability Grant – 4 April
  • Children’s Grant (and all other grants) – 5 April

If you don’t get your grant as of the above date, do well to check your status again to be sure you are still eligible to receive the grant.

Note: It is important to note that the Social Relief of Distress grant is not included in the above date because no deadline is given for the payment hence, payment may commence after the Sassa payment dates.

How Much You Will Receive as Sassa Payment in April

According to Finance Minister, Enoch Godongwana’s announcement during this year’s annual budget speech, all permanent social grants will increase with effect from 1st April 2023 and more increase is expected to happen during the mid-term budget period on 1st October 2023.

In line with the announcement, all Sassa grant beneficiaries are expected to receive more than their usual amount and the new amount is as follows;

  • Child Support Grant: Increase from R480 to R500
  • Older Persons Grant (below 75 years): Increase from R1,990 to R2,080
  • Older Persons Grant (above 75 years): Increase from 2,010 to R2,100
  • Disability Grant: Increase from R1,990 to R2,080
  • Foster Child Grant: Increase from R1,070 to R1,120
  • War Veterans Grant: Increase from 2,010 to R2,100
  • Care Dependency Grant: Increase from R1,990 to R2,080
  • Top-up CSG: Increase from R240 to R250
  • Grant-in-aid: Increase from R480 to R500

Expected Amount for Sassa Grant Payment in October 2023

  • Foster Child Grant: Increase from R1,120 to R1,130
  • Older Persons Grant (below 75 years): Increase from R2,080 to R2,090
  • Older Persons Grant (above 75 years): Increase from R2,100 to R2,110
  • War Veterans Grant: Increase from R2,100 to R2,110
  • Disability Grant: Increase from R2,080 to R2,090
  • Care Dependency Grant: Increase from R2,080 to R2,090
  • Child Support Grant: Increase from R500 to R510

All applicants who wish to check their status on the South African Social Security Agency(Sassa) grant can do so by using any of the two online tools provided on the SASSA application portal which include;

  • The SRD Status checker which you can access here: https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/application/auth
  • Use the Whatsapp option by messaging this number: WhatsApp: 082 046 8553 

You are not allowed to use this tool multiple times so, it is suggested you use it one at a time to check your Sassa Payment Status.
