About the University of Sussex
Founded in the 1960s, the University of Sussex is a leading higher education and research institution near Brighton, in the south of England. Sussex was the first of the new wave of UK universities and received its Royal Charter in 1961.
As of the time of this post, the University of Sussex has 18,510 students (2019-20 full-time equivalent figures), of which around one-fifth are postgraduates with 65% of their student population being UK students and 35% are overseas students.
The university’s goal is to deliver teaching and learning programmes informed by current research, attractive to students from all socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, and deliver skills for life.

Facts About University of Sussex Scholarship
The Sussex scholarship award is a tuition fee reduction scholarship worth £3,000 and the scholarship is awarded to only students who meet the eligibility criteria of the university for the scholarship.
Nigerian Students who graduated with a first-class in their first degree are eligible to receive a tuition reduction scholarship of £5,000. The Sussex scholarship is open to Postgraduates and Master’s full-time students

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must meet these criteria;
- Be a national of Nigeria
- Be classified as ‘overseas’ for fee purposes
- Be taking up a place on a full-time Master’s degree, starting September
- You must also meet the stipulated requirements for your course of study
Note: Students with an offer to study at the University of Sussex Business School will be able to combine this award with the Business School International Masters Award. Students with an offer to study in the School of Engineering & Informatics will be able to combine this award with the Engineering & Informatics International Masters Award.
