2024 TETA Unemployed Learners Bursary Direct Application Link for South Africans
TETA Unemployed Learners Bursary – The Transport Education Training Authority (TETA) invites qualifying unemployed learners to apply for 2024 academic year bursaries. Interested South Africans who wish to participate in the bursary program should submit their online application now before the application closing date.

About Unemployed Learners Bursary
The Unemployed bursaries are offered to learners who have been accepted to study at accredited institutions of higher learning (post-school learning). These learners must not be employed full-time and they must be enrolled for a career related to the transport sector either on full-time or part-time bases – Aviation Training and Diving Programmes are also included.
Applicants must satisfy the minimum entry criteria when applying for the bursary (failure to meet all the requirements leads to the disqualification of applications);
Eligibility Criteria for TETA Bursary
- Applicant must be a South African citizen;
- Applicant must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years;
- Applicant must be currently unemployed;
- Applicant must be studying at a public tertiary institute (University/University of Technology/ TVET College/Accredited Flying School) in South Africa;
- Aim at studying towards an NQF level 6 qualification (or above) within one of the above-mentioned fields of study
- have passed with a minimum overall average of 50% in the previous years’ studies;
- have a total household income of less than R350 000 per annum.

Only students study within the below or any acceptable course or qualification can be sponsored under this bursary program;
- (N4-N6) or ND or B Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- (N4-N6) or National Diploma or B Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- B Degree in Aeronautical Engineering
- BSc Aeronautical Engineering
- National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Logistics Management
- National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Road Transport Management
- National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Supply Chain Management including Warehouse, Storage, and Distribution
- National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Transportation Management
- National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Transport Economics
- National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Information and Communication Technology
- National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Risk Management
- National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma, B Degree or Honours Degree in Operations Management
- National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Health and Safety Management
- National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Business Administration National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Financial Management
- National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Maritime or Nautical Studies
- B Degree in Maritime Law

- Master’s Degree (Research topics Relevant to the transport sector)

- Commercial Divers, Class II, III and IV
- Private Pilot License
- Commercial Pilot License
- Instructor’s Rating
- Instrument Rating
- CPL with ATPL Subjects (Frozen ATPL)
- ATPL (Hour Building)

TETA Unemployed Persons Bursary Coverage
This bursary only covers the following areas;
- Tuition
- Accommodation on or off campus
- Transport (where applicable)
- Books and meals
Who Can Apply for 2024 TETA Unemployed Learners Bursary
The 2024 Transport Education Training Authority (TETA) bursary is open to the following category of people;
- Learners currently in Grade 12 or have completed matric intending to study qualifications selected for the 2024 intake (see qualification list above.
- Currently registered students at universities and colleges who require funding for the 2024 academic year;
- Aviation students with valid PPL or CPL
- Commercial divers with matric (Senior Certificate)
Applicants must be studying at or intending to study at Universities (Public and Accredited Private Institutions), the University of Technologies, Public and Private Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges Accredited Aviation Schools, and Accredited Diving Schools.

How to Apply for 2024 TETA Unemployed Learners Bursary
If you are interested and eligible to participate in the bursary, you are to submit your application online through the online bursary system. TETA online Bursary Application System is the only preferred method of application. You can submit your application through the bursary portal here www.teta.org.za or https://clarity.teta.org.za
Applicants will be notified of the outcome of the application.
