About MTN ACE Uganda

MTN ACE is a nationwide youth-centered economic empowerment program that impacts the relevant skills and creates opportunities for the youth. The program is designed for fresh graduates, those in and out of school, innovators, entrepreneurs well as tech-driven start-ups.

1. Ace Tech focuses on upskilling the youth interested in tech-related innovations.
2. Ace Career seeks to empower fresh graduates with workplace skills and internship placement.
3. Ace Skilling is tailor-made for youths who are in or out of school to equip them with entrepreneurial skills.

The MTN ACE initiative is an invention of the MTN Uganda Foundation, executed in partnership with; the Ministry of ICT & National Guidance, The National ICT Innovation Hub, Centenary Technology Services, Refectory, MUBS Entrepreneurship Innovation, and Incubation Centre, as well as MTN’s Fintech subsidiary, MTN MoMo Uganda Limited.

MTN Ace Tech Eligibility Criteria

The individual must be a digital innovator looking to upskill with programming and entrepreneurship skills. He/ She should have built or attempted to build a digital product and is looking to upskill and should have  been a part of a team that has built or attempted to build a digital product and are looking to upskill

All applicants must possess the following:

1. Should be 18 years and above
2. Must be able to commit to the program attendance of at least 80%.
3. Must have access to a laptop and internet

MTN Ace Career Eligibility Criteria

Individuals applying to the program must be:

1. Citizen of Uganda
2. Currently residing in Uganda
3. Degree/diploma holder from a recognized University by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) in Uganda.
4. The Applicant MUST have graduated in the last three academic years of 2019/2020, 2020/2021, and 2022/2022.
5. Youth aged  between 18 and 29 years by the time of application
6. Must be proficient in English
7. Must not be in formal employment at the time of making the application
8. Able and willing to participate in the internship placement at MTN Uganda or any of our partner organizations for a period of three months
9. Able and willing to participate in three (3) days per month for three (3) months of in-person soft skills training sessions at selected locations within Uganda.

Priority Categories

Priority is given to the following categories of applicants:

1. Graduates with  First Class and Upper Second Degrees/diplomas
2. Graduates of STEM-related courses
3. Female graduates
4. Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)
5. Graduates from disadvantaged family backgrounds and or residents in remote and rural communities of Uganda with limited employment opportunities.

MTN Ace Skilling Eligibility Criteria

Any Individual applying to the program must be:

1. A student/graduate or out-of-school youth looking to acquire digital and entrepreneurship skills
2. Any individual who is an entrepreneur, SME, MSMEs owner, or employee
3. Must be able to commit to the program attendance of at least 80%.
4. Should be between 18 years and 30 years
5. Must have access to a laptop/tablet/smartphone and internet

How to Apply for MTN ACE Ugandan Youths Empowerment Program

Interested and eligible Ugandan youths who meet any of the above program criteria should submit their application forms online via the MTN ACE program application portal here before the application closing date for their chosen program.

The deadline to apply is 13th January 2023.
