UK Teacher Recruitment 2023 Application Form Portal and Requirements

Applications are hereby invited from individuals who wish to teach in England to submit their application forms for the UK Teacher Recruitment 2023. See the list of eligible countries, requirements, and how to apply below.

List of Eligible Countries for UK Teacher Recruitment

Applicants from the following countries outside England are eligible to apply for this job;

• Nigeria
• Ghana
• South Africa
• Zimbabwe
• Hong Kong
• India
• Jamaica
• Singapore
• Ukraine

From 1 February 2023, teachers from all eligible countries will have to show they meet a consistent set of criteria for the award of QTS(Qualified Teachers Status). Over time, this route will be opened to qualified teachers from every country outside the UK.

This will ensure all non-UK teachers awarded QTS meet the same high standards, while also increasing opportunities for highly qualified teachers wherever they are trained.

Requirements 

To apply for assessment only QTS, interested candidates do not need a formal teacher training qualification. However, you must have;

• A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience;
• A first (bachelor’s) degree from a UK or non-UK university
• An English language qualification which is the same standard as a grade 4 GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education)
• A maths qualification which is the same standard as a grade 4 GCSE to teach children aged 3 to 11 in primary school and
• A physics, chemistry, or biology (science) qualification which is the same standard as a grade 4 GCSE.

How to Take the Qualified Teachers Status(QTS) Assessment

All interested applicants who meet the above requirements should take the QTS assessment before the application commencement date by visiting the qualified teacher status (QTS) in England portal here.

All candidates from the above-listed countries will be eligible to take this assessment from 1st February 2023.

After a successful assessment, you can now proceed to submit your application form online along with all documents listed on the QTS portal.
